Please fill out this form to nominate someone for the BOM. This should be filled out by both the person nominating and the person being nominated.
Nominations will be accepted from May 25th to June 1st, 2025.
Please refer here for further information on the BOM: What is the Board of Management
By filling out this form we assume that you have read the criteria for suitability for managers of the Board (see below) and wish to nominate someone for this role as per rule 3.37: "If the ballot is to be conducted with nominations: a) any nomination must be signed by at least one communicant or adherent of the congregation aged at least 16 years, and any nominee must sign the paper nominating him or her." (Code Book, PCV)
Criteria for Board of Management Managers
- Character: Board managers should be women or men of exemplary godly character in line with the description of an overseer in 1 Timothy 3:1-7.
- Conviction: Board managers should be women or men who have a demonstrated profession of faith in Christ and share DPCs conviction that the resources of our church should be used to help DPC to achieve its purpose of making disciples of Christ who are deeply satisfied in knowing and serving him.
- Competency: Board managers should be women or men who have suitable competencies or gifts to assist DPC in managing the property, finances, and material resources of the church. (for more information on the role of board managers, search for the file What is the Board of Management? in Elvanto.)
- Communicant (Membership): Board managers should be women or men, at least 18 years of age, who are on DPCs roll of official communicant members. (DPC follows the well-attested principle of governance that it is unwise to have two members of the same family on a Board of Management at the same time. We want to avoid even the perception of a power imbalance or conflict of interest.) It is also necessary for managers to meet the relevant Safe Church requirements (particularly having a current Working With Childrens Check and completing the Safe Church Basic Training within 12 months of taking up the position).
- Commitment:
- Time: Board managers should be women or men who are able to attend a monthly meeting (typically second or third Monday of the month) and also be willing to commit to other tasks or responsibilities that might be required for the board to effectively manage the property, finances, and material resources of the church.
- Treasure: Board managers should be men or women who are willing to give generously to the work of the gospel in and through DPC and, where possible, model that to the congregation. (DPC recognises and celebrates equal sacrifice not equal giving. Some managers may give comparatively bigger or smaller amounts but it is generosity of the heart that God honours, and that we seek for you - not simply a larger amount of dollars! Therefore, there is no requirement that managers give a specific amount or percentage of their income.)
